Using Fatobuy with this catalog: fees, storage, shipping and help
Fatobuy is the agent this catalog is read for. This page covers the parts of using it that are not about closures, from what you pay to how to reach someone.
What Fatobuy does with a catalog link
Fatobuy is a shopping agent: it places orders on Chinese online marketplaces for people who live abroad, takes delivery at its own warehouse and posts the goods on. You hand it the address of a listing, it buys the item from the seller, and the item travels inside China to the warehouse in Jinjiang, Fujian. There it is photographed, stored and, when you are ready, packed into a parcel with your other items and sent abroad.
The catalog this site reads links to listings on platforms such as Taobao, 1688 and Weidian. Fatobuy's own search box covers Taobao and 1688, and its product pages handle Weidian links too. Fatobuy does not sell the items itself: its help pages say the products are third-party listings and that Fatobuy does not take on the risks of the products themselves, such as quality. Fatobuy's home page: fatobuy.com.
The Fatobuy mark from the top of its own pages. This is the only place it appears on this site.
From catalog link to parcel, step by step
How to order with Fatobuy, from a catalog card: open the card, which takes you to the listing on the original platform. Copy that address and paste it into Fatobuy, pick the color and version, and add a note for anything you want checked or photographed. Pay for the item and the shipping inside China; that is the first of two payments.
When the item reaches the warehouse, look at the standard photos and order any paid detail photo or inspection you need. Once everything you want has arrived, group the items into one parcel, pick the line it will travel on and settle the second payment: international shipping and a customs clearance charge. The screens for each step sit behind a login, which we have not used, so the exact buttons are not described here.
Service fee, two payments and the exchange rate
Fatobuy's service fee page says orders placed on mainstream platforms (it names Weidian, Taobao, Tmall, JD and 1688 among them) are free of service fee. Some sources carry a fee: second-hand listings are charged per order, and orders from other third-party platforms or from sources Fatobuy cannot identify are charged a percentage. So the honest summary is no service fee on the usual catalog platforms, not no fees at all.
Set a verification budget around unanswered garment details, such as whether the zip separates or how far a strap opens. Use the current service quote and actual checkout conversion. A charge for staff inspecting a closure does not establish how easily you can operate it.
Storage, returns and the parcel guarantee
Items can wait at the warehouse free for 90 days from when they are marked in stock, which leaves time for photos, questions and a decision; the storage page explains the charges after that. If the closure turns out wrong, Fatobuy can ask the seller to take an unused item back within a few days of arrival; it only works if the seller agrees, and the buyer instructions set out the fees.
Read any optional parcel cover as a separate contract: covered events, exclusions, insured amount, evidence and claim deadline all matter. The public compensation and receiving articles address different situations; this guide does not collapse them into one promise of cover or one universal deadline. If something is wrong, preserve the parcel and report it promptly through the official parcel record, asking which written conditions apply.
Shipping lines and how long they take
Compare the complete cost of the selected garment and suitable route with a local option that permits a physical try-on. The dressing-decision budget lists the separate payments; no historical exchange-rate observation is used as today’s price.
Two points matter for this site. Garments with magnets may need a line that accepts them, so ask before ordering, as the fastenings page explains. And whatever line you pick, the person receiving the parcel is the importer and pays any duties or taxes their country charges; customs rules vary, and Fatobuy's pages are not a substitute for your own customs authority's guidance.
Signing up, getting help and the Discord server
Signing up starts from Fatobuy's home page and needs an email address you can confirm. New accounts are offered a pack of shipping coupons; the values and conditions change, so we do not list them, and Fatobuy posts its current promotions and announcements on its own site. Before the first order, the help page Things to know before purchasing for the first time is worth reading: it explains the two payments and the 90 days of free storage in Fatobuy's words.
If you need help with an order, Fatobuy lists an email address, [email protected], an on-site live chat, and a Discord server, the official one, reached from a link in the site header: Fatobuy on Discord. The site footer gives customer service hours as Monday to Saturday, 9 am to 6 pm Beijing time. When this guide was put together we found no other official community, on Reddit or elsewhere, linked from Fatobuy's site; we do not quote member counts.
When Fatobuy suits you, and when another agent may
Most of what Fatobuy does, every shopping agent does: buy from the link, hold the item at a warehouse, photograph it, ship it. Choosing an agent is mostly about the edges. What matters for a reader of this site is that Fatobuy publishes, in plain help pages, a paid inspection that tries the zip, a per-photo detail service, and an inspection scope that says openly what is left out. That makes it workable for choosing clothes by their closures.
Other shopping agents run the same basic service with their own fees, add-on menus and warehouse rules. As for when to use another agent, consider it when an order needs something Fatobuy does not list, such as a check it does not offer or a shipping line to your country that accepts a particular item. Compare the published inspection scope, storage terms and after-sales windows rather than slogans. Every Fatobuy page ends with the company name SHUNYUAN HK INDUSTRIAL LIMITED (Hong Kong); the agreements in its help center name no company and call the service Fatobuy throughout.
