What Fatobuy's warehouse can confirm about a fastening, and what it cannot

Between the seller and your door, Fatobuy's warehouse photographs and checks each item. Here is how far each service reaches toward a zip, a button or a waistband.

Where Fatobuy's photos and paid checks reach a fastening

Once Fatobuy has bought an item, it goes to the warehouse in Jinjiang, Fujian, where staff photograph it and check it against your order. For someone choosing clothes by how they close, that warehouse stop is the last chance to see the real closure before paying for international shipping. Fatobuy offers three levels of looking, and each answers a different question.

The standard photos show what arrived. A paid detail photo shows one part you name. A paid detailed inspection has staff handle the garment, including trying the zip. None of the three tells you how hard the garment will be for you to put on; the help pages do not claim to, and this page explains why that gap exists. Prices and wording below are from Fatobuy's help center, checked 19 October 2026.

Three levels of looking at the warehouse, and the question each one answers.

The standard photos, and the front one in particular

According to Fatobuy's Detailed photography help page, the regular inspection usually produces three photos at ordinary resolution: one of the front, one of the back, and one from the side or of the logo. Fatobuy's home page puts it as three free QC photos; the help page says generally, so this site says usually. Reading the QC photos for a closure is mostly a matter of the front shot: it normally shows whether a top opens down the middle and whether trousers have a fly.

What the standard set rarely shows is the bottom of a zip, the inside of a waistband or the size of a button against anything you can compare it with. Those are the gaps a paid detail photo fills.

Detail photos: one request, one picture

The detailed-photography article refreshed on 22 October 2026 describes requested views and local measurements, lists 3 CNY per photo and a 24-hour service target, and discusses a customer-service retake for an inadequate image. Confirm the current price and request details before paying; the published target does not prove the actual completion time of an order.

For closures, good requests are concrete and visual: the bottom end of the zip, shown open; the front buttons beside a finger, for scale; the inside back of the waistband; the heel of a shoe from behind. Each is one photo. A request that asks the warehouse to judge something, such as whether a zip is stiff, is not a photo request at all.

Detailed inspection and the zip that gets tried

The detailed-inspection article refreshed on 22 October 2026 describes additional visual checks, lining and pocket checks, sleeve or leg comparison, included accessories and trying a zipper. It lists 6 CNY per item and a 24-hour service target. Ask which requested check can be performed on your item; an operable zipper does not establish how easily a particular wearer can use it.

By the page's own comparison, the standard inspection only confirms that the right goods arrived without serious visible damage, and skips small scratches and stains. For a garment chosen for its zip, the detailed inspection is the one check that has a person operate the closure. It confirms the zip opens and closes. It does not report how much force that took.

What no inspection tells you: how it feels to put on

Fatobuy's inspection scope page lists what the standard inspection leaves out, and "usage effect" is on that list alongside color difference and measurement error. In plain terms, nobody at the warehouse puts the garment on or tells you whether it is comfortable or easy to use. Even the detailed inspection, which does try the zip, answers whether the zip works, not whether you will manage it.

That gap is not a failing; a stranger's hands tell you little about yours. What you can do is turn feel into something visible. Ask for a detail photo of the pull tab from the side, so you can see how far it stands out; of a button beside a finger; of the zip bottom. Then make the judgement yourself, with the six moves in mind.

Writing the request so the warehouse can act on it

Warehouse staff work through many orders a day, so the request that gets done right is short, visual and tied to one item. Name the product number. Say what to photograph, from which side, and in what state: open or closed, inside or outside. Keep to one detail per photo, because that is how the service is priced.

Can I ask the warehouse whether a garment is easy to put on
Not usefully. Ease is outside the inspection scope. Ask for photos of the closure and judge from those.
Does the detailed inspection cover buttons as well as zips
The help page names zips specifically. For buttons, ask for a detail photo instead.
Do I pay for these before or after the item arrives
The help pages call them value-added services and ask you to name the product number once an item is in storage. The ordering screens need a login and we have not seen them, so we do not describe them.
What if the photo shows the wrong closure
You can ask Fatobuy to try a return to the seller within the short window after the item reaches the warehouse; it depends on the seller agreeing.

Those are the questions most frequently asked before paying for a warehouse check, answered from the help pages as of 19 October 2026.
